Introducing Robert Chapton
We’re excited to welcome Robert Chapton to the Resources by EWS team. In his role, Robert will support landfill tipper startups, expand our inspection processes and national footprint, and help optimize our odor equipment installations and equipment, along with ongoing field service and support.
With decades of hands-on experience and a reputation as a trusted expert, Robert brings both deep technical knowledge and a people-first approach that aligns perfectly with our values.
Robert’s mechanical journey started early. Growing up, he spent his time building go-karts, working on dirt bikes, and fixing cars – skills shaped and strengthened by his father, an electrical and mechanical engineer at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC). After his father’s passing, Robert had the opportunity to work at SLAC himself, where he began maintaining complex systems critical to the accelerator’s operation. From pumps and water systems to vacuum tubes and radiation shielding, he built a strong foundation in mechanical systems, troubleshooting, and precision work.
Over the years, Robert expanded his experience across multiple industries, including medical device manufacturing and construction. At Target Therapeutics, he helped maintain clean rooms, contributed to early medical device innovations, and designed systems that improved manufacturing efficiency and safety. Later, as a contractor, he built homes, decks, and cabinetry – further sharpening his problem-solving skills and work ethic.
Robert ultimately found his way into the waste, recycling, and oil and gas industries. Starting as a mechanic and advancing into field service, he quickly became a go-to expert for landfill tipper systems. He developed deep expertise in hydraulics, electrical components, and mechanical systems, earning the trust of customers and coworkers alike. During this time, Robert and our Vice President, Scott Haynes, helped build the comprehensive inspection and rebuild program at a previous company that we are now expanding for our customers.

Beyond his technical expertise, what truly sets Robert apart is his commitment to people. He takes pride in building relationships – whether helping a customer troubleshoot an issue over the phone or mentoring a new technician in the field. His goal is simple: to be a reliable source of support and knowledge others can count on.
Robert’s experience spans the globe – from China to Australia to North America – where he has trained landfill operators, mechanics, and site representatives on safe processes, procedures, and tipper system maintenance. These experiences have strengthened his technical expertise while giving him a deep appreciation for connecting with customers not just as clients, but as people.
Now at Resources by EWS, Robert is focused on continuing to grow his expertise – particularly in our tipper systems and odor control solutions – while building strong relationships with our customers and partners. He’s excited to be part of a team that takes pride in its products and stands behind the people it serves.
