Leachate Management

WAIV® (Wind-Aided Intensified Evaporation)

  • The WAIV® system was made to rapidly evaporate leachate on-site, and with far lower energy requirement than traditional leachate management processes. The WAIV® utilizes a drip system to saturate heavy-duty, fabric sails with leachate in order to drastically increase the surface area for fast evaporation of high quantities of liquid. The system is located on-site and is mostly energy passive (using just a pump and a fan when air is stagnant) - making this an incredibly economic option for waste management sites.

    • Very low energy required to evaporate large volumes of leachate leads to significant ROI.

    • On-site evaporation eliminates the need to transport leachate, and managers don’t have to worry about leachate being rejected at wastewater treatment plants.

    • The system is designed and fabricated to meet your site-specific needs.

    • The WAIV can run 24/7, can be automatic or manual, and can be controlled remotely if desired.

    • Residual solids can be used as daily cover.

    • RBEWS offers expert maintenance packages, and we are always happy to assist you if you have any questions.

  • The WAIV is effective anywhere leachate management is needed, even in cool temperatures (above freezing), with light to moderate rain, and in very little wind.

tWAIV® | Portable

  • Using the same evaporation technology as the WAIV®, the tWAIV® is a portable option that is just as effective as the fixed version. The tWAIV® is situated within a truck trailer where the sides and ends of the trailer are removable, and it can be moved throughout a landfill depending on site needs. This can be essentially energy-passive, or use a fan as well.

A portable system based on the exact site needs that is modular and stackable for greater processing capabilities

    • Optimized through additional fan units to provide for greater capacities

    • Easy to move, set up, and able to cover about 90% of the sites throughout multiple industries that need to evaporate leachate and industrial wastewater
